Crime of the Week:  Help needed solving church copper thefts

Springfield, IL (CAPITOL CITY NOW) – This week, Crime Stoppers is seeking information to assist the Springfield Police Department in reference to a theft and criminal damage that occurred at First Presbyterian Church, located at 321 S 7th in Springfield.

Officers responded to the church in reference to someone damaging and stealing the copper downspouts from the church.  Video shows on January 18th around 1 am a white male wearing a black and yellow coat with a large “B” or “8” on the left sleeve, removing a large section of downspout.
