Springfield, IL (CAPITOL CITY NOW) – The Animal Protective League (APL), a not-for-profit organization dedicated to assisting ill, injured and abandoned homeless animals, will be holding its annual Giving Tree donation drive from November 28 until December 31.
You can make a difference in an animal’s life this holiday season by participating in our Giving Tree donation drive! All donations received will support animals both in our shelter and in our community! The Giving Tree is one of APL’s most important events as we rely upon donations to stock our inventory of cat/dog food, toys, office supplies, cleaning products, etc. for the coming year, which in turn allows APL to allocate valuable resources for life saving surgeries and care for animals in need.
Over 40 businesses throughout Springfield will be showing their support for animals and for APL this holiday season by hosting a special APL Giving Tree. Each APL Giving Tree will have a special ornament featuring one of our previously adopted animals or current animals available for adoption and an item from our wish list. After you purchase the item, place the item and the ornament in the collection box at the location you picked up the ornament. Items may also be dropped off at our shelter at 1001 Taintor Road, Springfield. For a list of participating businesses visit our website, www.apl-shelter.org.
APL’s shelter at 1001 Taintor Road in Springfield is open every day from noon to 5 p.m. for adoptions. For additional information on adoptions, volunteering or making a donation, call the Animal Protective League at 544-PETS (7387) or check the group’s web site at www.apl-shelter.org.
