GOP: Pritzker is soft on crime

Springfield, IL (CAPITOL CITY NOW) – Expect to hear this story as long as JB Pritzker is Governor: He’s soft on crime, particularly when undocumented immigrants are committing the crime.

Tuesday was a chance for Republicans in Illinois to spread their message.

State Sen Jason Plummer (pictured) (R-Edwardsville) foresees a change: “I think Gov. (Darren) Bailey is going to be a lot better than Gov Pritzker on crime; there is no doubt in my mind about that,” said Plummer. “Does anyone think it make sense that (the suspect in last week’s killing of Loyola student Sheridan Gorman in Chicago), who has already committed multiple crimes, gets arrested and is immediately released?”

House and Senate Republicans held separate news conferences Tuesday, with the House focusing on DUI victims. As to the connection between the undocumented and that particular crime, State Rep C.D. Davidsmeyer said, “If the borders weren’t open, if they weren’t here illegally, those people would be alive. You cannot argue that.”
