According to Sangamon County Coroner Jim Allmon, the crash happened before 12:25pm near East Sangamon Ave. and Peoria Road on city’s north end.

Allmon says the driver of the motorcycle — a 61-year-old male — was pronounced dead at HSHS St. John’s Hospital not long after being taken there by ambulance.  The status of the driver of the other vehicle is unknown.

Allmon says an autopsy has been scheduled, and the identity of the motorcycle driver is being withheld pending notification of next of kin.
