Springfield, IL (CAPITOL CITY NOW) – The Illinois Lottery says someone got a “Quick and Easy” $3 million after buying a Mega Millions lottery ticket locally.

The lotto says the ticket for Tuesday night’s drawing was bought at the Qik-N-EZ on North Grand Avenue East.

The ticket matched all five white ball numbers but not the “Mega Ball,” which would have netted the winner only $1 million, had a 3X multiplier not been used.

The store gets $30,000 for selling the ticket.

“This store has proudly served the community for more than 26 years and has celebrated many winning lottery moments along the way,” said Damon Cranford, CEO of Chronister Oil Company, which operates Qik-N-EZ stores throughout Central Illinois, in a news release. “While this isn’t the largest prize we’ve ever sold, it’s certainly among the biggest.”

The winning numbers in the drawing were 12, 39, 43, 49, and 55 — with a Mega Ball of 23.

No one matched all the numbers, so Friday’s drawing will be worth $458 million.
