Decatur, IL (WAND) – Grab your gloves, more baseball is coming to Decatur.

Golden Rule Entertainment and the owners of the Springfield Lucky Horseshoes announced a partnership with Millikin University Tuesday to bring a summer collegiate team to the Soy City next year.

The still to be named team will be played at Workman Family Baseball Field on Millikin’s campus.

The ownership group said it focuses on getting local players to add to the roster every summer.

The season usually runs late May through July and will start summer of 2026 in Decatur.
